“Anthony is cured!” 7,243 donors gave him a second chance at life

“Today we are coming home from the hospital with the best possible news – Anthony is cured!”
With these words, Anthony’s father shared the news that thousands of people had been waiting for.
7,243 donors stood behind the campaign and raised €253,474.90 – 127% of the original €200,000 goal.
But today, the most important thing is not the amount raised.
What matters most is one child whose family and thousands of strangers fought together for his life.

The family had already lost one of their children

Anthony and his twin brother Dennis were diagnosed with chronic granulomatous disease – a rare inherited disorder of the immune system.
Dennis lost his battle for life.
After this devastating loss, the family had to find the strength to continue fighting for Anthony.
When his condition worsened, he was urgently taken to Turkey. Doctors discovered multiple abscesses in his liver that had to be brought under control before they could move on to the next major step – a bone marrow transplant.

Behind every donation is a person

Thousands of people saw Anthony’s story and decided to help.
