502 donors came together on PavelAndreev.ORG and raised €9,282.80 – 186% of the amount originally needed.
Thanks to you, the family of two-month-old Svetozar has been able to stay close to him in Sofia while doctors continue fighting for his life.
Svetozar is only two months old, but his battle began almost immediately after he was born.
At just two days old, he underwent major surgery.
A long hospital stay and treatment followed, and when he was finally discharged, his family’s joy lasted only 48 hours.
His condition suddenly deteriorated, and the baby had to be urgently transported by helicopter to Sofia.
While doctors care for Svetozar, his parents are facing another challenge – they do not have enough money even for the regular journeys and their stay in the capital.
The family also has a 5-year-old child to care for. Svetozar’s father has to be there for his son while also providing the income the family needs.
Funds are needed for travel, accommodation, food, sanitary supplies for the baby and the most basic daily expenses while he remains in hospital.
His mother’s request is simple:
“I am not asking for luxury. I am asking for the chance to be by our child’s side.”
502 people answered that call.
The €9,282.80 raised exceeded the initial goal and gave the family the means to cover their expenses during one of the most difficult periods of their lives.
On August 11, a payout from the campaign was approved. The family shared that the funds are being used to cover the necessary supplies and procedures for Svetozar’s treatment, as well as transportation, accommodation and everyday expenses related to receiving treatment far from home.
For his parents, this means something very concrete – being able to stay by their child’s side while he continues his fight.
In an update to the campaign, they thanked everyone who made this possible:
“This gives us the opportunity to stay constantly by our little fighter’s side, to hold him close and give him the peace and love he needs to keep fighting.”
Svetozar’s battle continues. But his parents now know they do not have to go through it alone.
Thank you to everyone who donated, shared the campaign or helped Svetozar’s story reach more people.
Sometimes help cannot take away the pain. But it can make sure that when a two-month-old baby is fighting for his life, his mom and dad can stay close to him.
