Following a record-breaking July, August set a new high for the international PavelAndreev.ORG community. During the month, the platform was visited by 404 337 active users from 169 countries, compared with 290 993 in July.
Campaign applications were submitted from 52 countries. During the month, 68 new campaigns were approved, while 244 applications did not pass the verification process. As of 1 September, a total of 626 campaigns are active on PavelAndreev.ORG.
In August, we shared several examples in the “Success Stories” section showing how the support of the community leads to tangible results.
In just 24 hours, 753 donors raised €16 518.69 for Pepi, securing a portable oxygen concentrator and the rehabilitation he needs.
365 donors raised €22 063 for 21-year-old Melissa, allowing her to move forward with another kidney transplant.
Good news also came for Miroslav and Milena. The family of 16-year-old Miroslav reported that after three operations he can now see, while 64 donors raised €18 019.64 for the next two procedures. Milena also shared that the histology results following her operation showed that no further chemotherapy or radiotherapy would be necessary.
502 donors raised €9282.80 for the family of two-month-old Svetozar, allowing his parents to remain close to him in Sofia while his treatment continues.
August also brought important results for campaigns from North Macedonia.
515 donors raised €8204.39 for Stefan, who lives with spastic cerebral palsy, securing the amount needed for the next stage of his therapy.
For Gordana, 121 donors raised €2901.15 and funded the urgent examination doctors needed in order to determine the next step in her treatment.
Gordana’s fight continues, and her campaign remains active.
North Macedonia was also the third country by number of active users in August, after Bulgaria and the United States.
On 27 August, a payment of €4700 directly to a medical facility in Istanbul was approved under musician Petar’s campaign for immunotherapy.
Brankica’s story also showed the other side of the problem - on 13 August, her family reported that her treatment had been interrupted because of a lack of funds. The outstanding debt to the hospital had reached €14 000, while a further €20 000 was needed for the next urgent cycle.
In August, 14-year-old Nicoleta travelled to Turkey again, and a payment of €3100 directly to the hospital was approved through her campaign.
Repeat testing of the samples confirmed the diagnosis of dysgerminoma and did not indicate a more aggressive type of tumour, giving doctors the clarity they needed to determine the next steps in her treatment.
Good news also came for Valentina from Moldova - her PET-CT scan was clear, and she responded well to the therapy. Her treatment is continuing, however, including immunotherapy every six weeks.
Moldova and Romania were also among the ten countries with the highest number of active PavelAndreev.ORG users in August.
In August, we recorded significant growth in the number of new campaigns for children from Russia.
At the same time, the PavelAndreev.ORG audience across Russian-language social channels is also growing. The content is reaching more people, while interest in and engagement with the campaigns continue to increase.
This is part of our broader direction - for the platform not simply to be available in different languages, but to gradually build local audiences and communities.
In August, campaign applications were submitted from 52 countries - another sign that PavelAndreev.ORG is increasingly being used by people far beyond our main local markets.
A story can begin in a country where PavelAndreev.ORG does not yet have an established local community and still reach donors from different parts of the world.
This combination of global access and the gradual development of a local presence is exactly the model we are building.
August was also an important month for the development of PavelAndreev.ORG itself.
On 24 August, we began transitioning from website versions organised primarily by language to local versions for individual countries.
The technological foundation for this model is already active and allows PavelAndreev.ORG to gradually develop local versions for more than 110 countries.
The next task is for each of them to gradually mean much more than a translated website - local content, audiences, communication channels, partnerships and teams that can support campaign organisers in their own language.
In August, Pavel Andreev, the founder of PavelAndreev.ORG, was selected as one of the honourees in the thirteenth edition of Darik Radio’s “40 Under 40”, in the Social Activities category.
The recognition is connected to the development of PavelAndreev.ORG and to the model in which technology is used as a tool for more accessible, transparent and effective help.
404 337 active users from 169 countries represent the highest monthly result ever recorded by PavelAndreev.ORG.
But the value of this record lies not only in the numbers.
It can be seen in the moment when a treatment can continue, a family can remain by their child’s side, or a story reaches the people who can help.
Because behind every PavelAndreev.ORG statistic stands the same goal - to make the distance between the person who needs help and the person who is ready to help increasingly smaller.
