Veronika’s story is not one that ends quickly or like a fairy tale. It is a story that is written every single day—with effort, difficult decisions, and a constant need for support. That is exactly why every small step forward matters so much.
Veronika is one of triplets, born prematurely in the 25th week of pregnancy, weighing just 695 grams. From her very first days, she had to fight for her life. Over the years, her family has faced a series of severe diagnoses, including hydrocephalus, cerebral palsy, epilepsy, retinal damage, and other conditions that require constant care.
Today, at six years old, Veronika cannot walk independently and is unable to do many of the things that come naturally to other children her age.
After years of treatment attempts in Bulgaria without the desired results, her family made the difficult decision to seek help abroad. A clinic in Istanbul has given them hope that her condition can be improved, but the cost of treatment is far beyond what they can afford.
This is how their fundraising campaign on PavelAndreev.ORG was created, with a goal of raising €17,000.
The funds are not yet fully raised
So far, 384 donors have stood behind Veronika and helped raise €9,797.26, which is 58% of the target amount. These are not just numbers—they represent real support that is already making a difference.
In March 2026, part of the funds was used for the first medical examinations in Turkey. For the family, this journey came with both hope and anxiety, as every step forward also brings uncertainty. As Veronika’s mother shares, it is hope—strengthened by the support of others—that keeps them going.
Early signs of improvement
Following the examinations, doctors adjusted Veronika’s therapy. What might seem like a small result to an outsider is, for her family, a major milestone. Veronika is now stable, she is no longer experiencing severe seizures, and there is no sign of deterioration. This is a clear indication that they are moving in the right direction and that their efforts are not in vain.
The next step ahead is even more significant. Due to severe spasticity, Veronika cannot walk independently and relies on constant assistance for movement. Doctors have recommended a surgical procedure called fibrotomy, which could reduce the spasticity and give her the chance to take her first independent steps.
This is not just about improvement—it is about a real transformation in her everyday life.
The reality, however, is that this journey will not be short, nor will it end with a single procedure. Veronika’s condition is incurable, which means she will need ongoing care, therapy, and support throughout her life. That is why this campaign is not just a one-time effort, but the beginning of long-term support.
What has already been achieved thanks to the donors is deeply meaningful. Medical examinations abroad have begun, her therapy has been adjusted, and her condition has been stabilized. Even more importantly, Veronika now has a real chance at the next step—a chance to walk.
Stories like this remind us that success is not always about a cure. Sometimes, it is about the opportunity to move forward and improve quality of life. And behind every such step are people who chose to help.
Veronika’s campaign continues. And every act of support today is another step toward a future where she has more chances to simply be a child.
