Can a platform created in Bulgaria one day help 1 million people around the world? This is the ambitious goal that Pavel Andreev, founder of PavelAndreev.ORG, shared in an interview with Darik Radio after being recognized in the 13th season of the “40 Under 40” initiative.
In the interview, Pavel talks about his journey from civil engineering to social entrepreneurship, the role of trust as the foundation of giving, and his decision to develop the model created in Bulgaria on an international scale.
The first campaign on the platform in 2021 was not medical. It supported children who had lost their parents during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Medical campaigns soon followed. Among the first were cases involving children in need of kidney transplants.
At the time, Pavel was still working as a civil engineer while developing the platform alongside his career.
The necessary funds were raised, the children were able to receive treatment, and the result was no longer just a number on a screen.
This became the turning point when Pavel decided to leave his engineering career and dedicate himself to PavelAndreev.ORG.
Today, medical campaigns on PavelAndreev.ORG undergo verification of the organizers’ identities, medical documentation, and fundraising targets. Funds raised for treatment are paid only to hospitals.
But for Pavel, trust is not built through rules and checks alone.
“I put my face and my name behind this, and I take responsibility for it.”
As PavelAndreev.ORG has developed, the range of people supporting campaigns has also expanded.
Pavel explains that donors include both people who can contribute a small amount and individuals and businesses that are able to provide significantly greater support.
But regardless of the size of the donation, there is something they share:
“People need to be good. They need to help.”
During the interview, Pavel gives the example of Anthony – a child with cancer who was supported by more than 7,000 people with around €250,000.
Two years after the campaign began, the most important news arrived – Anthony had been cured.
Results like this are behind the ambition for the PavelAndreev.ORG model to reach more and more people.
Pavel says he now knows clearly what he wants to achieve with PavelAndreev.ORG – for the platform to continue helping more people in Bulgaria while expanding the model created here internationally.
He has set a goal that he himself describes as so ambitious that it may sound like “madness”:
“A Bulgarian can help one million people around the world.”
The interview follows Pavel Andreev’s recognition in the 13th season of Darik’s “40 Under 40” initiative.
For him, the recognition is also connected to the people behind PavelAndreev.ORG:
“For me and my colleagues, this gives us validation, a pat on the back that the work we are doing is meaningful, large-scale, and recognized.”
And the next major goal has already been stated – for what was built in Bulgaria to help more and more people around the world.
