Il mio nome è Cristoforo, e fino a poche settimane fa vivevamo a Cherasco, una piccola cittadina in provincia di Cuneo, con la mia compagna Simona e le nostre figlie: Emma, Eleni e Noemi.
La sera del 3 luglio, in pochi istanti, abbiamo perso tutto. Un incendio ha avvolto la nostra casa, e in quelle fiamme sono spariti non solo i muri e il tetto, ma anche i nostri ricordi, le foto di famiglia, i giochi delle bambine, gli arredi costruiti con anni di lavoro e sacrifici.
Siamo riusciti a fuggire, e questo è il dono più grande: siamo tutti vivi. Ma oggi ci ritroviamo senza un tetto e senza le piccole cose che riempivano le nostre giornate di normalità. Da quella notte, ogni gesto quotidiano che davamo per scontato — chiudere una porta, coricarsi in un letto, preparare la cena in cucina — non è più possibile.
Ricostruire sarà difficile, ma vogliamo crederci. Lo facciamo per le nostre ragazze, perché possano tornare a sentirsi al sicuro, e per noi, per ridare una quotidianità a questa famiglia che è tutto ciò che abbiamo.
Se stai leggendo queste parole, sappi che anche un piccolo gesto può essere un mattone per ricostruire la nostra vita.

My name is Christopher, and until a few weeks ago we were living in Cherasco, a small town in the province of Cuneo, with my partner Simona and our daughters, Emma, Eleni and Noemi.
On the evening of July 3, in a few moments, we lost everything. A fire enveloped our house, and in those flames disappeared not only the walls and the roof, but also our memories, family photos, the girls' toys, the furniture built with years of work and sacrifice.
We managed to escape, and that is the greatest gift: we are all alive. But today we find ourselves without a roof and without the little things that filled our days with normalcy. Since that night, every daily gesture we took for granted - closing a door, lying in a bed, making dinner in the kitchen - is no longer possible.
Rebuilding will be hard, but we want to believe. We're doing it for our girls, so they can feel safe again, and for us, to restore an everyday life to this family that is all we have.
If you are reading these words, know that even a small gesture can be a brick to rebuild our lives.
