Charity campaign in support of Joro is over.

Dear Donors, let us recall the story of Joro:

It all started in September 2020, when unpleasant sensations in the stomach began. After several periodic visits to the GP, we ended up in the gastroenterologist's office. We were sent for comprehensive tests at the Second City Hospital and after they were done, the news came that he had a malignant growth on his rectum and unless he underwent emergency surgery, he would not last more than two months as the tumor had almost blocked his intestine. The day after discharge, he went into the First City Hospital for the surgery itself, which was successful. The doctors got the ileostoma out temporarily, but on the seventh day they operated on him again as it had gotten complicated - peritonitis (thanks to the team because I was there and they literally brought him back from the other world after a three-hour surgery, during which they found a coid infection). At this surgery they also brought out the colostomy. They discharged him on the 29th day. We were referred to oncology at City Clinic. He went through a committee there and went in for his first chemo on 12/29/2020, with a lot of effort things improved and he was fine, but at the end of the appointed course the scan showed new metastases in his liver. He passed committee again and started second line chemo, he got to the halfway point and again the follow up scan showed ineffective treatment, in the meantime after thousands of complaints of bone pain he had a scintigraphy and confirmed metastases to his pelvis as well. They did a single radiation for pain relief, but in less than two months the pain returned full force. This was at a time when he had already had another scan and had been prescribed a third chemotherapy tablet. After the first appointment he had another radiotherapy (5 courses) and then went into hospital as his liver had become inflamed. On the third day he was discharged to continue with chemotherapy. He took his tablets as scheduled (reduced dose) and the tests they did showed iron deficiency anemia. He was exhausted from everything so far. I sought out the oncologist and she referred me to consult a urologist. She clarified for me that if it was not a urological problem, a gastroenterologist consultation would also be necessary. Eventually we got to gastroenterology and they took him there for three days as there was no more option, with the assurance that they would spare no expense. After discharge the same day he continued to deteriorate. I sought help again and was told that nothing could be done as the therapy was not working and the metastasis was active. I tried other hospitals but the result was the same - they could not admit him as the health fund pathway was used up and he could only come in on a pay as you go basis. I then contacted the MC and after reviewing the medical records, they explained that there was something that could be done but it was expensive, paid for and the health insurance did not cover it. They have no right to refuse treatment (symptomatic in this case), I didn't have to think much since while I was wandering around looking for an option for help it could cost him his life. I explained my financial situation and immediately began to struggle. After the first treatments I noticed a minimal effect - it started to pick up after each treatment there is a little improvement but we are at the very beginning...
