Dear people, we thank you with all our soul for giving HOPE to CHRIST! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts to the amazing team at Biruni Hospital Istanbul! Hristo is no longer known as "the man with half a skull" because you all gave him back his dignity. Hristo spent a month and a half in Istanbul. Doctors treated infections and stabilized Christo's condition to proceed with the difficult skull reconstruction surgery. The operation took place on 14.09. - It was a very difficult and risky operation in the eyes of the neurosurgeons, but Hristo is a fighter and went through this ordeal heroically. The head wound was huge and every day, for 3 weeks, the neurosurgeons monitored the development of things around its healing. Most of the staples of the surgery were removed, but since there was one part that was a little harder to heal, the neurosurgeons decided to leave it that way for another month. The doctors treating us advised that Christo should be discharged because a longer stay in hospital carries a risk of hospital-acquired infections. So Christo is now home. In a month's time, we will have the braces removed, a follow-up examination and consultations with specialists-neurologists and orthopedists, further tests and for the first time an EEG of the brain, which we asked to have done in Bultaria, but they scoffed at us and didn't even explain that without a skull it can't be done.

Our family is a bit more relaxed because for the first time after 14 months doctors see Christo not as a hopeless case, but as a completely normal patient, for whom they take adequate care and prescribe adequate therapy after the tests, because we are not "drilled" in our heads that everything is hopeless and "to get used to this state of Christo, and much harder to expect" / sorry to say, but these are the words of native doctors /. We have started on a very difficult path, but it turns out that there is one... We will try to "fix" this condition of Christo, which in Bulgaria they allowed to happen and did not care.

Good people, none of this would have happened without you! Yes the doctors are wonderful - they prescribe therapy, they operated on Christo, but how would we have reached them if it were not for your compassion, empathy and generosity!! To know that out there, somewhere, a stranger empathizes with your drama and pain and is really giving of his or her dowry to help you - that is great!

The fight for Hristo's dignified life continues and he will need you - People with big hearts!
