Seihan is a round orphan who grew up in a home for children without parents and lost both his legs as a child. Despite his plight, he meets life's challenges with dignity. He never complains, never whines and stoically fights his problems like any Bulgarian.

In early April 2023, because of a problem with his left eye, he visited an ophthalmologist who found that he had a serious problem and was in danger of losing the sight in his eye if he did not have a corneal transplant.

According to people who have gone through this hell and suffered the negatives of such an intervention performed in Bulgaria, the risk of a failed attempt (or worse - causing more damage to the eye) is high. Therefore, his friends and colleagues suggested Seyhan to explore the issue of performing the surgery abroad. Given the prohibitive cost of such treatment in Western European countries, efforts were directed at seeking an option for surgery in one of the clinics in Turkey that achieve excellent results at more affordable prices.

Seyhan has received several offers through TURMED agency, which offers mediation services for treatment in Turkey (including providing a coordinator/assistant fluent in Turkish and Bulgarian, assistance with hotel, transfer from train station/airport, etc.). The lowest offer for such a transplant is from LIV HOSPITAL ULUS - Istanbul. The amount for the operation is 5000 euros, but to this amount should be added the costs of the preliminary examination, pre-operative tests, transport, hospital and post-hospital stay, follow-up examination, etc. According to TURMED, the amount for the additional costs can range from 2000-3000 euros (ideally with a stay of one day in the clinic and one week at a hotel in Istanbul) to 10000 euros (in case a longer stay in the clinic is necessary, which costs 500 euros per day).

The arithmetic shows that it would be necessary to raise at least 7,000 euros, which is not a startling sum, but Seyhan does not have it. He has no income other than his salary, which he uses to meet his monthly expenses (including the rent of the flat where he lives) and it is not clear when he will be able to raise the amount in question, or if he will be able to do so soon at all.
