My name is Emil and I would like to share my story with you in the hope of getting a chance at life.

Since the beginning of January I started having dizzy spells, headaches and high blood pressure. I visited a neurologist in Svoge who sent me for a scanner. There they found spines in the cervical spine. They started treatment with pills and massages. By mid-March my condition had deteriorated sharply. We sought help at Ivan Rilski Hospital. After an MRI they found two growths on the cerebellum - one they operated on and the other could not be touched. The operation was on 24.03.2025 and I was discharged on 01.04.2025. They said a biopsy sample was taken.

After about a month I deteriorated again - started walking with difficulty, lost feeling in my left arm and leg. We contacted the surgeon who had operated on me - he recommended ginseng. A week later I was back at Ivan Rilsky where they said there was no problem in my head and the cause was probably neurological.

We sought a second opinion - with prof. Tsekov from "Tokuda". The new MRI showed that the tumour that was left was starting to grow and had covered the brain stem. They suggested a repeat biopsy because, in their opinion, either no sample had been taken or it had been incorrectly processed. But the chances of a new operation were minimal - there was a risk I might not live. I refused a second head opening.

We sought a third opinion - at Sofia Med. On 20.06.2025 they accepted me. They did numerous tests. MRI showed that in 20 days the mass had tripled in size. However, without a biopsy, there is no way to prove exactly what it is, which means no accurate diagnosis and no treatment. They believe it is a malignant, very aggressive tumor. They also found several infections that did not respond to treatment. I remained immobile, bedridden.

On 27.06.2025 I was discharged again and referred to prof. Minkin in "Ivan Rilski". I was admitted immediately, an MRI was performed and it was found that the mass had grown considerably, covering the brain stem, spinal column and the cerebrospinal fluid. The diagnosis included Brown-Sekar syndrome and multiple infections caused by the growing mass. My condition was now too severe to have a biopsy - the risk of dying on the operating table was too great.

The doctors told us there was nothing more they could do. I was discharged to spend my last days with my family. But I didn't want to give up. I want to live.

We contacted the Turkish clinic. We sent all the documents since January. After three days we received a reply - I will be directly admitted, but the treatment and stay are extremely expensive. The ambulance alone costs 1500 euros. After admission they will do new MRI and tests. The cost of the MRI, tests, therapy and biopsy amounts to 30,000 euros - a sum that is unaffordable for my family.

Therefore, with all my heart, I appeal to you for help. I am the grandfather of four grandchildren. Every day I am asked how I am, whether I will recover. And I do not want to die in torment. I want a chance. I want treatment. I want to fight.
