Hello! My name is Deme Bintou, I am Burkinabé, I live in Burkina Faso and I am in the city of Bobo Dioulasso. I am 27 years old.

I am an orphan of father. I am the eldest, I have two brothers and a sister (we are 4 children in total, same mother and same father). My father was a blacksmith and it is he who paid for my schooling. In 2013 my father fell ill and he could no longer pay for my schooling and each time, they came to chase me out of the class for the reason that I did not pay the schooling but I who do not want to stay at home without doing anything, I go back to school again. After two years of illness, my father died in November 2015.

The year that my father died I should have done the 3rd class (the BEPC exam) and my schooling is not paid and I cry not to fail.  Given the situation, my mother who sold fish had nothing left and she went to take a loan of 10,000 FCFA (15.33 euros) so that I could take the exam and I was admitted to the BEPC. After the exam I was assigned to a private college for the second (2nd) class in 2017 where the tuition amounts to 75,000 FCFA (114.96 euros), the outfit 7,000 FCFA (10.73 euros), school supplies etc. for me alone and we are 4 children, all of us at school, in addition she has to pay the house rent 25,000 FCFA (38.32 euros), food and she does not have the means so it was very difficult.

She managed to pay 20,000 CFA francs (30.66 euros) for my schooling, but every day at school they came and chased me away with hurtful words, and my classmates laughed and made fun of me. They also refused to give me my report card for each term. Every day I cried. So I dropped out of school in 2017 in the second year (2nde) and went to help my mother sell fish at the market so that we could pay for my brothers' and sister's schooling and other expenses.

I spent 3 years with my mother at the market. But despite all that, nothing worked out. One day my mother told me to look for another job since I had gone to school, and it was in 2021. I went out to look for work, and after a few months of searching, I heard about a job that was in another part of town.

I had to walk 2 hours before arriving at the workplace and another 2 hours of walking to get home. It was a public secretarial job at a lady's house but the latter said that she did not want someone who could not handle a computer but I wanted the job, she told me that she was not ready to teach someone for the job. So I went to see a gentleman I knew, he trains people in computers for 30,000 FCFA (45.99 euros) per month. I explained what the lady told me. I begged the gentleman to train me in computers but I have nothing to pay for at the moment, he agreed by telling me that he could train me for just 2 weeks and I accepted. After the 2-week training, I asked the gentleman to come with me to talk to her and she agreed to hire me.

She gave me these conditions: 1 month of training without pay at her place to see my behavior and after the 1 month, I go up from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. every day. Day off Sunday, each end of the month 20,000 FCFA (30.66 euros) as salary. Given my situation, I accepted. I did 1 month and she said she liked my behavior and I started working. The first month of my work, she paid me and the second month too she paid me but after the two months, she paid me more.

But I continued working hoping that she will pay me. Every day I wake up at 4:00 a.m. to get ready to go to work, at 5:00 a.m. I am already on my way and after 2 hours of walking I was there, I clean the entire office and I receive the clients.  I mastered the work well, I did the job well, the customers did not complain and I did everything alone (typing, printing, photocopying, binding, laminating, scanning, creating the different cards, selling school supplies, selling espresso, giving computer training). After all this work she does not pay me, I work without salary. It was the customers who were kind who gave me a little money.

And it was with her money that I ate to live. During these 4 years of work in the secretariat, my boss does not pay me, she insults me, she puts me down in front of people, she treats me as she wants by saying that I can do nothing and I have no choice. On June 1, 2025 in the morning when I arrived at work, she chased me away from coming again, I asked her what did I tell you, she said nothing but I don't want you at my house anymore.

I begged her, she told me that it's her office and she does what she wants. I must not contradict her otherwise I will see. I went back home. So now I'm at home it's been 3 months now, my mother is sick now it's been 8 months and we brought her to the village, one of my brothers left for Mali to look for work.

My sister went to work for a lady as a cleaner.  Our youngest is with a gentleman where he is learning mechanics. I, Bintou, the big sister, live with a nephew. At my nephew's house too, it's not going well at all, even having enough to eat is a real problem.

That's why I'm asking you to help me because of God so that I can open a secretarial office to be able to work, take care of my mother and help my brothers and sister who are in difficulty now. I have experience in secretarial work, I can do it and I know that I can manage but it's the means (money) that I lack. I need an office computer, photocopier, photocopier ink, scanner, binding machine, laminating machine, table and chair, ream of paper, office to rent, electricity, etc. Please help me🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

Bonjour !
