My mother needs help again - her battle continues

Dear Friends,

It is with pain and hope that I turn to you again. Thank you to each and every one of you who reached out to us at our most difficult time and helped us take my mother to Turkey for treatment. We went with faith that they would find a way to treat her there - the right diagnosis, medication, surgery... We hoped for relief, for a chance.

When my mother arrived at the hospital, the doctors received her with care and prescribed treatment with expensive and strong medication. A revision of her intestinal stoma was planned, a procedure that could have improved her life significantly. Unfortunately, before the surgery could take place, her condition deteriorated rapidly. She had to be urgently moved to intensive care.

Every day there was costly - stay, medication, supplies. The last funds raised from the donations of kind people were spent there - to stabilize her and save her life.

However, the doctors decided not to perform the planned revision as her condition was too unstable. And we couldn't stay any longer - we were financially and physically exhausted. My mother and father went home to Bulgaria.

Unfortunately, a month after her return, her condition deteriorated again. Her medication no longer worked. The abdominal pain returned, the ileostomy was causing complications and her temperature was constantly reaching 39-40°C.

Our fight continues here in Bulgaria. Our hope is now at Adjibadem City Clinic Hospital Tokuda in Sofia, where we are looking for a team to take on her case and give her a chance for a real treatment for this severe autoimmune disease.
