I will tell you the story of Chernyo. Chernyo lives in a yard and often goes out on the street. He has no owner. He has a little brother. He and his brother are taken care of by the service men. They feed them. There is a woman who deworms and feeds them too. Chernyo is not aggressive. He often gets out of the yard by jumping the fence, climbing bricks and trees. And that's how he comes home. He recently had his trees cut down and hasn't been able to go out or come home.

Sunday morning when we went to the repair shop, we noticed a huge pool of blood. We didn't find him anywhere. When we returned in the evening they opened the door for us and we went inside to see where the trail continued. There was an awful lot of blood.. finally we found Czerny under the bushes, lying quietly and waiting for it to end. His paws... his front paws were cut to blood... not to blood, his left paw was to the bone. Yeah right, to the bone. The right one was just cut. And he sat quietly and meekly and just watched us with his big brown eyes. The bolts on the tin door had been torn and he had been in and out of there, but this time it was fatal. We started ringing clinics to get a doctor to come and see him. Naturally as you can guess, Varna a big city, on a Sunday it's like a village and nothing works. The multidisciplinary clinic told us that he had to be chipped first and then they could treat him, otherwise they would have to pay fines. My husband pulled him out and we got him in the car and eventually took him to the vet. Anyone who has a pet and has had to take them there knows how expensive it is... the docs immediately took him in and started prepping him for surgery. The left paw had no sensitivity on the inside, but the outside did. It was a 40 degree temp. The orthopedic surgeon explained to us not to get our hopes up that the thing would become a paw because all the ligaments were torn. He said he would do his best to not go to amputation. That night they put him under anesthesia and the surgery began.

On Monday he said it all went well and he stitched up what he could and glued in one place because there was nothing to stitch up... We tried to get him out but he refused to sit out. Chernyo is depressed and quite despondent. He refused to eat. He only drank water. Today we went again and he had a can, even two. We took him out and he went back to his cage by himself - he doesn't want to sit outside and his paws hurt.

Blackie will be inpatient until Sunday. Inpatient with the medication is about 200 BGN per day. As of Sunday and Monday the amount is 457 BGN. Since we don't have the possibility to cover the whole amount, we made a donation campaign. We are collecting about 2000 lv to be able to cover the inpatient, dressings, food, medicines, surgery and checkups once he is out of there.
