My name is Slavcho Borisov Trendafilov, 53 years old, married, with two wonderful children - a daughter 26 years old, from whom I have a grandchild of only 2 months and a son 12 years old.

In February 2025 I was diagnosed with LAS - Lateral Amyotrophic Sclerosis (Motor Neuron Disease) - a disease for which there is no official treatment in Bulgaria.

It all started at the end of August 2024 - first with pain in my legs, which went away, but was replaced by weakness in my left leg. Months of examinations, tests and hope that the cause was different followed - I was even diagnosed with a disc herniation. However, my condition worsened. I went from a cane to a walker, and today I am in a wheelchair.

After numerous examinations in Bulgaria, Germany and Finland the diagnosis was confirmed. The doctors told me that there is no treatment in Bulgaria, but in Germany there is an experimental therapy with the drug Tofersen that can stop the progress of the disease and give me a chance for a longer and fuller life.

On 22 July 2025 I travelled to Germany for my first check-up, where the professor gave me hope and assured me that I had a chance. We received the official offer for the treatment , which is

320,077 euros ( for one year) or 27,000 euros per month - the amount is unaffordable for me and my family.

⏳️ Time is my worst enemy! The disease is progressing fast!
