Hello, dear people!

My name is Polina and I am the daughter of a wonderful and kind man who I have the good fortune to call my dad, the next lines will be about him and his fight for life.

In 2022, one of the closest and dearest people to me, my father, Diyan Georgiev was diagnosed with the scariest diagnosis - a malignant stomach tumor. A disease that had few symptoms, and despite numerous examinations and preventions, no one in Bulgaria was able to detect it in time. After attempting treatment in Bulgaria and facing scary words about his future, we made the decision to seek a second opinion and hope at Johns Hopkins Anadolu Medical Center.

As of November 2022, his treatment began there. I make no secret that the road has been difficult, we have celebrated victories over small battles, but we have also experienced many hardships and downfalls. My dad went through several different treatments, a weekly trip to the hospital, over 40 infusions of chemotherapy, and a number of tests and interventions to aid in his treatment. Dad is my hero, even after his severe diagnosis he never gave up and never stopped believing in the good, fighting and being our strength and support! Now is the time for us to be his strength in the toughest battle life has dealt him!

Unfortunately, we are now facing a difficult situation again. Due to a sharp deterioration in my father's condition, he had to be hospitalized in the hospital in Turkey.

Over the past week, to establish the problem, the necessary investigations were carried out which showed severe inflammation and resistance to current therapy which has allowed the disease to reactivate. The goal at this time is to get his vitals under control and stabilized before starting another course of chemotherapy and going home. It is gradually becoming unaffordable for us to meet the costs to support treatment and I would like to appeal to you for help and support. I would be grateful to anyone who is able and willing to support us in this difficult struggle. Many people have helped us and continue to do so.

Dad is strong, bravely going through all the treatments and tests in the hope that he will be by our side for longer, supporting us, caring for us and that we will have many, many more happy times together. Daddy always knows, always can, always helps, loves and heals. Help me heal him too!
