Скъпи Приятели и Дарители, На 1 август в Кьолнската университетска болница направиха dotapet скенер на Огнян.
Целта беше да се види напредъкът с Лутеций преди третата процедура. Скенерът показа, че има наслагване на лутеций във всички туморни клетки, но се установи агресивен разтеж на нови такива в черния дроб. Това накара лекарите успоредно с действието на лутецият да преприемат спешни мерки, като предпишан на Огнян химиотерапия CAPTEM /Капецитабин плюс Темозоломид/. Действието на лутецият продължава, но започнахме и предписаната терапия.
Като протокол в България тази терапия не се прилага. Ще се следи от германският лекуващ екип.Решението за започване на химиотерапията е взето на туморен борд, състоящ се от 16 лекари експерти, от които по-голяма част професори в своята област, специализирали лечение на невроендокринни тумори. Сега ни предстоят три кръга терапия, след което ще бъде направин нов пет-скенер, за да се установи действието на лекарствата.

Dear Friends and Donors, On the 1st of August at the Cologne University Hospital they performed a dotapet scan on Ognian.
The purpose was to see the progress with Lutetium before the third procedure. The scan showed that there was an overlay of lutetium in all the tumor cells, but there was an aggressive expansion of new ones in the liver. This prompted the doctors to take emergency measures alongside the lutetium, prescribing Ognian CAPTEM chemotherapy /Capecitabine plus Temozolomide/. The action of the lutetium continued, but we also started the prescribed therapy.
As a protocol in Bulgaria this therapy is not applied. It will be monitored by the German treating team.The decision to start chemotherapy was made at a tumor board consisting of 16 expert physicians, most of them professors in their field, specialized in the treatment of neuroendocrine tumors. We now have three rounds of therapy, after which a new five-scanner will be done to ascertain the action of the drugs.
