Hello, dear people!

My child is facing what a mother never wants to think about - the terrible disease CANCER...

When Toni was 21 years old she developed complaints in the area below her ear - there was a lump. She had to have emergency surgery. After histology of the tumor it turned out - Adenoid-Cystic Carcinoma of the parotid gland, in simpler words "cancer".

A second operation was needed and after it the surgeon explained to me that he had to cut out a lot of tissue and the facial nerve, he said he had cleared everything possible but if there were any dissections and they went to her head she would die. At that point my soul died. I wiped away the tears and went to my child, told her everything went well.

Radiotherapy treatments followed after which she went into remission. In 2022, at one of the follow-up exams, multiple scattered lung lesions were seen. On thorough examination, it was found that the cancer had returned to the facial nerve. Again surgery followed and again radiotherapy. Half of her face became paralyzed, and she could not even close her eye on her own. Unfortunately dissections also appeared in her lower back, pelvis and ribs. Months of radiotherapy with no results. The doctors decided to start chemotherapy. So almost a year of chemotherapy had no good result, scatters appeared in the liver as well.

We went for a second opinion in the city of Panagyurishte, the answer was that only this treatment is allowed in the European Union.

And so we come to Turkey, the Memorial Hospital in Istanbul. After the examination we were given hope that there is a therapy that can put my child into remission. The therapy was very hard for her, she spent weeks vomiting and not eating, I could see her weakening day after day and my heart cried, but she fought through. Now things are going well with treatment. Other than two small scatters on her liver, there are no new ones, and the old ones are now inactive.

The chemo infusions are over, but we will have to continue pill therapy (smart drug type) which may take about a year and a half. This therapy aims to make all the dissections disappear.

Unfortunately, these drugs are very expensive - 2400 euros per box, and we need 2 boxes per month. For us these amounts are unaffordable, and we need this therapy to continue in order to successfully finish the fight against cancer.

DEAR PEOPLE, I ask you from the bottom of my heart to help my child, my beautiful and sweet girl, again in this difficult time, to beat cancer for good and to be able to live a normal life again. Thank you in advance!
