My name is Dobromir Ignatov and I am Maggie's brother. In March 2022, my sister was operated on for uterine fibroids and had her ovary and uterus removed. After a sample was taken for examination, the doctors said that the growth was benign and there was no need to undertake treatment.

In the month of 05.2023 my sister complained of acute pain in her abdomen and after examination by a doctor it was found that there was a large growth of about 15cm at the site of surgery. The doctor who performed the first operation confirmed that she should undergo a second operation very urgently. The operation was extremely difficult as the mass in the abdomen was attached to important organs and after profuse haemorrhage a blood transfusion was required.

After a second sample was taken it was found to be a stage 4 soft tissue leiomyosarcoma with disseminations throughout the body including a 32/26mm lung mass.

Unfortunately, considering the treatment performed so far, we decided that the chances for adequate treatment in Bulgaria were minimal and we undertook treatment at the Turkish clinic "Anadolu Medical Center".

After a lot of repeated examinations of her current condition the doctors determined 6 cycles of chemotherapy as a start and subsequent lung and abdominal surgery to remove the growths if the tumor is not affected by the chemotherapy. According to the treating oncologist, in three weeks the lung mass had grown significantly. On Tuesday 04.07.2023 and the first infusion of the first cycle was done. This Wednesday on 19.07.2023 we have to be at the clinic for the second infusion.

As the amounts we will have to pay are prohibitive for us I ask for your support to give my sister a chance to live. Thank you!
