This is Caro, a 2-year-old male cat rescued from the streets as a small baby.

Just recently, my little friend was diagnosed with a serious illness called Feline Infectious Peritonitis FIP.

FIP is a viral disease caused by feline coronavirus that affects feral and domestic cats. FIP is extremely fatal with an estimated mortality rate of ~96% if left untreated.

Thanks to Dr. Nils Pedersen and his team of researchers, the discovery of the use of an antiviral drug GS-441524 has revolutionized the treatment of FIP.

What was once a deadly disease is now easily treatable. The injection is the most reliable form of treatment for FIP and lasts 12 weeks with a nearly 90% success rate.

Unfortunately GS-441524 is really expensive and the owner can't afford it.. It costs about 95 EUR for every 5 days, for at least 84 days.
