Hello!

We are Jiyul Lee (South Korea) and Asya Rusanova (Bulgaria), professional opera singers working in Bulgaria. Our desire is to contribute to the revitalization and enrichment of cultural life in the country by providing a field for the expression and training in the field of opera art for people with disabilities, young talents from music schools, academies and universities.

Our idea is to gather a team of like-minded people to organize and prepare the presentation of thematic opera concerts and entire opera performances. These will be performed on stages in smaller towns where there are no opera houses, but there is an audience thirsty for culture, for quality stage-musical performances.

We need funds to get this whole big idea off the ground, which also includes organising competitions and master classes for opera singers in the future.

We took the first step by founding the opera company "Compera" at the beginning of March 2025. We started with the beginning of the first year of the company "Compera" in Gorna Oryahovitsa. From there we plan to start our concerts.

Jiyul Lee is 31 years old, baritone, master in opera singing from Barcelona and soloist at the Gran Teatre del Liceu there. He has won numerous opera competitions in both Europe and the USA. He has sung including on the prestigious stage of Carnegie Hall, New York. Very successful as a vocal teacher and experienced as a choral conductor. Currently pursuing a doctorate in opera singing at California Arts University, USA.

Asya Rusanova is an opera singer, 37 years old, MA in classical singing from New Bulgarian University.
