Hello, in August 2022. Deyan Spasov was diagnosed with a tumor in his brain/ right thalamus/ left side of his body tingles constantly, which creates a problem in his movement and coordination, he gets tired quickly and at times he becomes disoriented.

During the examinations we were told that this area was very dangerous for surgery, that even biobiont was a very risky procedure, that it might not give enough information, that there was not much that could be done for Dejan.

This led us to seek an opinion in a Turkish clinic, and so we came to Anadolu-Istanbul. He had an MRI, which confirmed the presence of a TU formation, then a biobsy.

He was prescribed a 30 day course, every day, of radiotherapy and chemotherapy by mouth. This necessitated a month and a half stay in Turkey, and his will to live, strength and courage helped him to get through this on his own, because staying there is expensive, and our children in Bulgaria need their care.

After the radiotherapy was finished, Dejan went home, but continued to take the prescribed chemo until January 2023. A January follow-up MRI showed the tumor had enlarged and it was a big blow and scare of what was to come. Treatment was changed to intravenous infusions of chimeo and immunotherapy every 14 days. He had 12 infusions, which required a trip every 14th day to Istanbul, 2 day stays for imaging and 3-4 days.

All of this involved a lot of money, time allocation, time away from the kids and home, but also a lot of hope and faith! And so to March when we were told , that the tumour had been reduced by 10mm and in May by another 2mm.

The last MRI on 31 July showed stable indicators, control, but Dejan needs to continue his treatment to improve the results and reach remission. Remission- which will bring much joy to our family, joy in our children's eyes, joy in knowing that he will be there for them at one of the most important times in their lives, namely their growth.

This continuation of treatment involves a lot of resources beyond our family's means.

This is the reason why we are turning to all of you, with a PRAYER for support so that the treatment can continue, so that a good man and father can be by his family's side and win this battle!
