Миналата седмица пътувах до Турция, за да направим плануваната биопсия на бял дроб.
Приеха ме в болницата и ме настаниха. Направиха ми необходимите кръвни изследвания и след това ме взеха с леглото, за да направим биопсията.
Биопсията се прави докато се снима с тумограф, за да се гледа къде трябва да се вкара иглата и да се вземе проба. Направи се първо снимка без контраст.
Сложиха ми местна упойка и забиха иглата в гръдния ми кош. Последва вливане на контраст, за да се "видят" кръвоносните съдове и да се вземе проба безопасно. Тук обаче се появи проблем.
Оказа се, че лезията е заобиколена/залепнала за множество кръвоносни съдове и има опастност от кръвоизлив и респективно опасност за живота ми. Незабавно процедурата беше преустановена.
Ще продължим така или иначе с терапията. Въпреки, че не знаем дали лезията в белия дроб е метастаза, тя ще се следи заесно с другите лезии.
Last week I traveled to Turkey to have a scheduled lung biopsy.
I was admitted to the hospital and checked in. They did the necessary blood tests and then took me to bed to do the biopsy.
The biopsy is done while taking a picture with a tumor machine to look at where the needle needs to go in and take a sample. A picture without contrast was taken first.
They put me under local anaesthetic and stuck the needle in my chest. This was followed by an infusion of contrast to "see" the blood vessels and take a sample safely. However, here a problem arose.
It turned out that the lesion was surrounded by/glued to multiple blood vessels and there was a risk of hemorrhage and consequently a risk to my life. Immediately the procedure was discontinued.
We will continue with the therapy anyway. Although we do not know if the lesion in the lung is a metastasis, it will be followed up with the other lesions.
