След редица консултации с лекари от различни клиники и в различни държави, избрахме да се насочим към Германия. Тъй като Габи вече беше преминала няколко химиотерапии и лъчетерапии в България, лекарите ни посъветваха да не сменяме рязко протокола, по който тя се лекува, тъй като този вид рак бързо развивал резистентност, което никак не би било в наша полза. От местата, с които се консултирахме само в Германия следваха същия протокол. До колко този протокол е бил ефективен, ще стане ясно след операцията, след която се изпраща част от тумора в Патология за анализ. Открихме, че в Германия има специализирани Центрове за Саркоми, както и лекари със специалност туморна ортопедия и хирургия. След период на дълга комуникация, успяхме да запазим дата за операцията на Габи в гр. Есен, Германия – 26ти Януари 2023г. Днес, 16.01.2023, бяхме на консултация с проф. Хардес и проф. Тегер, които отново снеха анамнеза, запознаха се подробно с документацията, обясниха ни какво ще представлява операцията, показаха ни прототип на протезата и направиха рентгенография на таза на Габи за да измерят костта й и да поръчат да се изработи протеза. Следващите дни ще се свържат отново с нас за да ни информират какво предстои и дали протезата ще бъде изработена на време, преди датата на операцията. Това как ще продължи лечението зависи изцяло от това как ще протече операцията, която ще е около 4 часа (според тях), какъв обхват на резекция на тумора ще постигнат, до колко ще е успешно поставянето на протезата, дали ще възникнат някакви усложнения в следствие на поставянето й, тъй като тя е чуждо тяло за организма, и каква ще е оценката на Патологията след като обработят биопсията от тумора. After a number of consultations with doctors from different clinics and in different countries, we chose to go to Germany. As Gabi had already undergone several chemotherapy and radiotherapy treatments in Bulgaria, the doctors advised us not to abruptly change the protocol she was being treated with, as this type of cancer was rapidly developing resistance, which would not be to our advantage at all. Of the places we consulted, only Germany followed the same protocol. How effective this protocol was would become clear after surgery, after which a portion of the tumor would be sent to Pathology for analysis. We found that there are specialized Sarcoma Centers in Germany as well as doctors with specialty in tumor orthopedics and surgery. After a period of long communication, we were able to book a date for Gabby's surgery in the town of. January 26, 2023. Today, 16.01.2023, we had a consultation with prof. Hardes and prof. Teger, who again took a history, went over the documentation in detail, explained what the surgery would be, showed us a prototype of the prosthesis and took an x-ray of Gabby's pelvis to measure her bone and order a prosthesis to be made. They will contact us again in the next few days to let us know what is coming and if the prosthesis will be made in time for the surgery date. How the treatment goes will depend entirely on how the surgery goes, which will be about 4 hours (according to them), what extent of resection of the tumour they achieve, how successful the fitting of the prosthesis is, whether any complications arise as a result of the fitting of the prosthesis as it is a foreign body to the body, and what Pathology's assessment will be once they have processed the biopsy from the tumour.
