Our son Zhanali, he is 3.9 years old. 7 months ago we learned about a terrible diagnosis: malignant brain tumor.

We are an ordinary Kazakh family, my husband and I got married in 2019. In 2021 our son Zhanali was born. He was born healthy, according to the calendar received up to 3 years of all vaccinations and signs of disease was not, went to a regular garden, only the only thing we were worried about because he had a speech delay and began to study. At the age of 3 years and 1 month he started to get sick often, it started with snot then we took him out of the garden then he started to lie down on the cold floor and in the morning there was vomiting, we went to clinics but there was no improvement. On one of these days we ended up in an infectious disease hospital with severe dehydration. During 4 days they could not make an exact diagnosis, and after they made a CT scan where they saw a mass on the head and referred to MRI in the 2 children's hospital where it was revealed that on the back of the cranial fossa there is a gigantic tumor.

After we decided to go to the capital where many operations with such a diagnosis are carried out. In NCH Astana made a surgery to remove the tumor, the operation was successful without complications but could not completely remove the tumor. A few days later the results of histology were reported, the tumor was malignant at that moment as if the earth had gone from under our feet. We began to search and find out where to treat our diagnosis well. As we learned about proton treatment, which is the most generous method of treatment for our diagnosis, we wanted to get this treatment, but unfortunately this type of radiotherapy was not available in our country. By the will of the Almighty we flew to Madrid, Spain, to one of the best clinics Quirónsalud. We were fully diagnosed, after molecular-genetic analysis we received a precise diagnosis: Nodular medulloblastoma with very slight desmoplasia at rest.

After undergoing a full diagnostic workup where it was found that there were metastases to the spinal cord, we started aggresive chemotherapy which lasted 7 days. Then started proton therapy + week 1 low dose chemotherapy. Praise be to Allah the first stage of treatment proton therapy was successful and according to the results after treatment no cancer cells were found in the spinal fluid, but according to MRI there is a small residue from the tumor (no metastasis). By Allah's will, Zhanali has started the second phase of treatment.
