Маргарита претърпя операция на 11.09, на която беше премахнах стомаха. Предоперативната химиотерапия се оказа изключително ефективна и ПЕТ скенера показа, че заболяването си отива. Вследствие на операцията, обаче настъпиха множество усложнения, като септичен шок; инфекция на белите дробове, което доведе до интубиране. Към момента Маргарита се прибра у дома. Лекарите препоръчаха лечението да продължи с лъчетарапия и химиотерапия, защото в премахнатите лимфни възли бяха открити живи ракови клетки. Margarita underwent surgery on 11.09 where her stomach was removed. Pre-operative chemotherapy proved to be extremely effective and the PET scan showed that the disease was going away. However, multiple complications occurred as a result of the surgery, such as septic shock; infection of the lungs which led to intubation. Margarita has now returned home. Doctors recommended that treatment should continue with radiotherapy and chemotherapy because live cancer cells were found in the removed lymph nodes.
