Dear people, I write these lines with a broken mother's heart. Please help us to save David.

My name is Alexandra Tsankova from Yambol and I am David's mother.He is a wonderful young man of 13, always knows how to make you smile, a precious friend and the best brother in the world. Unfortunately,our wonderful family was shaken by the doctors' suspicions - lymphoma (cancer of the lymphatic system).

It all started on July 23,when Davi complained of pain in his knees.Examinations by orthopedists found nothing.After being discharged and given antibiotics,my son got a rash and bruises all over his body,as well as a huge lymph node on his inguinal fold.This was the reason we went to the pediatric oncology department in Plovdiv,where after tests,the doctors told us that they suspected Hodgkin's lymphoma(cancer of the lymphatic system).

You can imagine the fear and horror that came over us. This was followed by an incorrectly taken biopsy,which necessitated a second opinion in Germany.The reply from there was also vague with a diagnosis,but it was clarified to be lymphoma. The time we lost waiting for a clear and accurate diagnosis,and David's deterioration forced us to seek an adequate opinion in Turkey. After consultation with Ajibadem,Maslak Hospital in Istanbul,we raised personal funds and on 11.09,David was admitted.

After the MRI,many more lymph nodes were found in the abdomen.We were informed that it might be leukemia,but the biopsy from the abdominal cavity and the bone marrow sample will show. At the moment we can't say an exact quote,because there are very important and expensive tests ahead,unaffordable for our family. So we are calling on all kind and caring people,asking you to lend a hand at this terribly difficult time for any parent. We know that the road will not be easy,but every battle with adversity is fought with the strongest weapons of the soul - faith and hope.
