My name is Tsveti and I am writing to you asking for help to be able to walk on my own again without aids, without the fear of falling and the weakness in my muscles.

It all started when I was 12 - first with pronounced weakness in my lower limbs and falls. I had a full blood count done and from there it was found that my creatine phosphokinase (cpk) was five times above normal. I was referred to a rheumatologist, who in turn now referred me to a neurologist at Alexandrovska Hospital. From there we sent blood along with mine and my mother's for testing and proof of diagnosis to the Netherlands.

A month later the result was ready - the severe diagnosis of Fasciocapulohumeral muscular dystrophy progressive type - gradual muscle wasting.

My parents didn't take it well, unfortunately Mum became ill from worrying about me and five years later passed away. One morning she didn't sub and left Dad and I to struggle alone.

I started intensive rehab, diet and vitamins. My condition improved, I even started babysitting young children part time while I studied at university .

Things were seemingly under control until , on 10.01.2017 I was hit by a car and had to be immobilised for two months with torn ligaments on my right ankle and a cracked rib.

And then I did not lose hope , that I would be able to walk on my own again, but alas the severe lower back pain started , the musculature of my spine had weakened, I started to step crooked with my right leg. I found a very good rehabilitation therapist and we made minimal progress , but again something unpleasant happened that pulled me back - the coronavirus infection that weakened my body a lot. I started walking with a cane, I pant when walking, I get tired easily and I started falling more often as a result of the weakness in my legs. My condition in general began to deteriorate with a great inability to perform my daily duties.

I was advised to seek treatment abroad and received an offer from Liv Hospital in Istanbul, Turkey . The therapy will not only be able to stop the progression of the disease but also improve my lifestyle to a great extent. The procedure is worth 22,000 euros and consists of the administration of 2 doses of allogeneic mesenchymal stem cells derived from umbilical cord tissue in addition to a course of physiotherapy, rehabilitation and ozone therapy.

Unfortunately the amount is unaffordable for us. I believe that everything will work out in the best way and I will still be able to realize a brave dream and have the opportunity to take care of my child and see Dad's smile again.
