Mă numesc Elena Șurubariu și locuiesc în comuna Hoceni, județul Vaslui. Toată viața mea am iubit animalele — poate chiar mai mult decât am reușit vreodată să iubesc oamenii. Pentru mine, fiecare suflet abandonat pe marginea drumului înseamnă o viață care merită o șansă, un trup mic care are nevoie de grijă, de tratament, de hrană și de un loc în care să nu fie lovit sau alungat.
În ultimii ani, sătenii din jur au început să lase în curtea mea tot mai mulți câini — unii sugari, abia născuți, alții bolnavi, slăbiți, speriați, neîngrijiți sau nesterilizați. Știu că au făcut asta pentru că au înțeles că îi primesc pe toți… că nu pot întoarce spatele niciunuia.
Și nu am putut. Nici nu pot.
Fiecare dintre cei 600 de câini și 39 de pisici pe care îi am acum a trecut prin mâinile mele.
I-am tratat, i-am vaccinat, i-am hrănit, i-am adăpostit, i-am mângâiat când tremurau de frică. Pentru că altfel… nu ar fi avut nicio șansă.Dar adopțiile merg greu, aproape imposibil. Și numărul lor a crescut până la limita disperării. Iar acum, după ani în care am făcut tot ce am putut cu resursele pe care le-am avut, au început problemele…
De aproape un an, unii vecini fac plângeri și trimit controale peste controale, doar ca să mă alunge din sat.
Nu i-a interesat niciodată cât am sacrificat, cât am muncit sau câte vieți am salvat.Pentru ei, animalele sunt doar „o povară” — iar eu am devenit ținta lor.Astăzi sunt în situația cea mai grea din viața mea: am primit termen două săptămâni să mut absolut toți câinii pe un alt teren din Vaslui. Dacă nu reușesc…
Statul îi va ridica. Și îi vor eutanasia.
Tot ce am făcut, tot ce am construit, toate nopțile albe, toate lacrimile și toată dragostea mea… s-ar pierde într-o clipă.Pentru a-i salva trebuie să construiesc urgent un adăpost nou — avem nevoie de gard, fose, puțuri, iar costurile sunt uriașe. Singură nu pot. A venit momentul în care trebuie să cer ajutor, cu toată rușinea și toată durerea care stă în pieptul meu.
Vă rog din suflet: ajutați-mă să nu las 600 de suflete nevinovate să ajungă la moarte.
Fiecare donație, fiecare distribuire, fiecare sprijin… înseamnă un pas spre salvare. Ei nu au voce. Eu sunt vocea lor.
Și nu îmi permit să renunț.

My name is Elena Șurubariu and I live in Hoceni commune, Vaslui county. All my life I have loved animals - maybe even more than I have ever managed to love people. To me, every soul abandoned on the side of the road means a life that deserves a chance, a little body that needs care, treatment, food and a place not to be kicked or chased away.
In recent years, more and more dogs - some infants, newborns, others sick, weak, frightened, uncared for or unneutered - have started to be left in my backyard by the villagers around me. I know they did this because they realized that they welcome them all... that they can't turn their backs on any of them.
And I couldn't. Nor can I.
Every one of the 600 dogs and 39 cats that I now own has passed through my hands.
I've treated them, vaccinated them, fed them, housed them, petted them when they trembled with fear. Because otherwise... they wouldn't have stood a chance.But adoptions are difficult, almost impossible. And the numbers have grown to the point of desperation. And now, after years of doing the best we could with the resources we had, the problems have begun...
For almost a year now, some neighbors have been making complaints and sending check after check, just to drive me out of the village.
For them, the animals are just "a burden" - and I have become their target.Today I am in the worst situation of my life: I have been given two weeks to move absolutely all the dogs to another plot of land in Vaslui. If I fail...
the state will pick them up. And euthanize them.
Everything I've done, everything I've built, all the sleepless nights, all the tears and all my love... would be lost in an instant.To save them I need to build a new shelter urgently - we need a fence, pits, wells, and the costs are huge. I can't do it alone. The moment has come when I must ask for help, with all the shame and pain in my chest.
I beg you from the bottom of my heart: please help me not to let 600 innocent souls die.
