Good News Continues: Two Years After Transplantation, Zhoro Is in Remission

Some stories take your breath away. Stories of pain, fear, and uncertainty… but also stories of hope, determination, and human kindness. Such is the story of Zhoro – a boy who, at just 14 years old, faced a harrowing diagnosis: acute T-cell lymphoblastic leukemia.

It all started with mild symptoms – a low fever and fatigue – that quickly escalated into a life-changing diagnosis. Months of hospital stays followed – high-dose chemotherapy, bone marrow biopsies, pain, and isolation. The prognosis grew more serious, and hope became harder to hold onto.

But Zhoro never gave up.

After an unsuccessful search for a donor in Bulgaria and Europe, his family found a chance for treatment in Israel, including a bone marrow transplant. The cost was immense. But then, a miracle happened. More than 9,369 donors came together and raised 301,223.22 EUR – giving a child the chance to live, dream, and laugh with friends again.

Today, two years after the transplant, the news is stronger than ever: Zhoro is in remission. His blood and bone marrow results are perfect. According to medical protocols, this was his final bone marrow biopsy, and going forward, only routine six-month checkups remain.

This isn’t just a medical success. It’s a triumph of solidarity, of belief, and of human compassion. A story that proves: when we stand together, we can overcome even the hardest diagnosis.

On behalf of Zhoro’s family and the entire PavelAndreev.ORG team, we extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who believed and offered help. Thanks to you, a boy received not just treatment – but a future.
