My name is Elena Simeonova, I'm 51 years old from the town of. I am 51 years old. I turn to all of you with a huge request for support in the battle with the most insidious disease - Cancer. I have been fighting it since 2021, when I first heard the terrible diagnosis. That's when I was diagnosed with cervical cancer. Surgery followed and was successful.

After a year, however, it turned out that the disease was not gone and I had scattered lesions in my lungs. Then the real battle began.

Chemotherapy in Bulgaria followed, but this proved unsuccessful and after 6 courses, instead of improvement I ended up with new scatters which had now affected both liver and bones. After the unsuccessful treatment in Bulgaria, we decided to seek help in Turkey. Since March 2023 I have been treated at Anadolu Medical Center Johns Hopkins . I did a course of new chemotherapy which was successful and had a clean scan last June.

I cannot describe the happiness I experienced then. I told myself that the miracle was happening to me too. But... alas it didn't. In September, at another follow-up scan, it turned out that the disease was back.

I started radiation, then chemo again, and again, and again. But still something is not enough to fight this nastiness. There is also a mutation of the cancer cells that become resistant and the drugs stop working on them. A few days ago my condition took a sharp turn for the worse. I hemorrhaged and was transported by ambulance to Turkey. It turned out that this time the lesions were on my colon, where they found new metastases.

I am currently hospitalized in the hospital where the doctors were able to stabilize me. I will have to stay here for observation and treatment as well as another 12 week course of chemotherapy. The funds we will need amount to over 35,000 euros. It has already become unaffordable for my family to cope with these costs. Many people have helped us and continue to do so.
