The man who always walked into hospital rooms to pray for others… today lies in one of them.
My name is Aida Debora Tambunan, and I am Petrik’s sister.
Many of you know him as a pastor. I know him as my older brother.
Since we were children, he has always been the one you could rely on. Calm. Strong. The one who protected us and made us believe that everything would be okay.
Over the years, we watched him dedicate his life to others. He prayed for the sick. He supported people in their hardest moments. He stood beside grieving families. He was always there when someone needed him.
He never asked for anything in return.
Even when life became difficult for him, he continued to give to others.
But today… he is the one who needs help.
It all started suddenly. His health declined, and what seemed like ordinary symptoms quickly turned into hospital visits, tests, and emergency procedures.
Then we heard the diagnosis no one is ever ready for — acute myeloid leukemia (AML), an aggressive form of cancer with genetic mutations that progresses rapidly and gives no time to wait.
More than 50% blast cells were found in his bone marrow. The disease is already at an advanced stage.
Petrik is going through intense chemotherapy, through treatments that exhaust his body completely. There are days when he tries to smile and comfort us. And there are days when he simply has no strength left.
And we stand beside him… watching the man who has always been strong for everyone now fight for his own life.
The doctors are giving him a chance. But that chance depends on further treatment, a bone marrow transplant, and a long road to recovery.
And that road comes with a cost.
The treatment alone is estimated in the tens of thousands, and the total expenses reach around 300,000 Malaysian ringgit. The amount continues to grow every day — with every procedure, every medication, every night in the hospital.
He is a man who has spent his life giving. Without thinking about money. Without thinking about himself.
As a family, we are doing everything we can.
But we cannot do this alone.
And for the first time… he needs the people he has helped all his life.
Please… help us.
Help a man who has always been there for others get a chance to live.
Every bit of support matters.
Every donation is another day of hope.
Another chance for him to come back to us.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
