Hello good people who give hope and support to those in need. I will briefly introduce you to my story and my call for help.

My child Ana Simona was born from a normal and monitored pregnancy. Immediately after my daughter's birth, multiple disabilities were identified - spina bifida occulta with meningocele in the lumbosacral region without hydrocephalus. Lower flaccid paraplegia'. The diagnoses were shocking news to me, which I refused to accept at first. My life was turned upside down as my daughter needed more special care even though I was becoming a mother for the second time. My little girl was lively and mobile and was trying to walk, but at the age of 9 months she had to undergo a surgical correction at the University Hospital "Pirogov" - city of Sofia. He had to be operated on at the "Pirogorovsky Hospital" in Sofia, due to a delay in motor development. My child's enrolment in the first grade was postponed due to the need to undergo intensive rehabilitation in the SICU - Sofia. Varna. Currently she is almost 13 years old and continues to attend regular rehabilitation. My daughter is a very cheerful and positive, always smiling child. She is a student in the fifth grade and is an excellent student. She manages to combine her lesson preparation with extra-curricular singing activities and has won numerous awards in various competitions.

Ana Simona needs new orthotics every year as her feet grow like any child's. My child also suffers from "marked scoliosis with increased lordosis, spinal cage stenosis with imbalance of both thoracic halves, a growing difference in the length of the two lower limbs" as well as frequent urinary tract infections requiring catheterization. My daughter requires a special corrective corset and possible surgical intervention in the chest area. At present, rehab procedures are difficult as the child does not have the appropriate orthoses / the upper part of the orthosis on the left leg is missing /. The orthotist we use does not meet the criteria of the Health Insurance Fund and we have to pay the amount for their manufacture ourselves. This is unaffordable for my family as I have no employment income and we live in accommodation. I accompany my child to school every day, providing her transportation there and back, as well as any other place she attends.

The child gets around on a battery-powered scooter, but needs my constant presence and support, given the daily challenges and maladapted urban environment. In order to provide a better quality of life for my child I have to seek support and assistance from various institutions and organizations. I have come to know about your platform with various donation campaigns and I sincerely hope you can help my talented child to get back on his feet and have a more fulfilling life.
