Natalie’s curved spine is making it difficult for her to breathe

“Mom, why has it become so hard for me to breathe?” These are words no mother ever wants to hear from her 11-year-old child.

My name is Anahit, and I am a mother of three. We are an ordinary family from Armenia, and today I find myself in a situation where I have to ask complete strangers for help for my 11-year-old daughter, Natali.

Natali has a severe and progressive spinal deformity. Recently, I have started noticing something that frightens me even more — it is becoming harder for her to breathe, especially during physical activity.

In Armenia, we were not offered a specific treatment or surgery. We were told that a specialist from abroad is expected to visit in October and might be able to examine Natali and give us an opinion.

But I am her mother. I could not simply wait for several months and watch my child’s condition change without knowing whether they would be able to help her then.

So I started searching on my own. I researched children’s hospitals and specialists abroad, contacted them, and sent Natali’s scans, examinations, and all of her medical records. That is how I found Sant Joan de Déu Children’s Hospital in Barcelona.

The specialists reviewed my daughter’s case and proposed a complex spinal surgery. The cost of treatment is €93,899.34. And this is only the hospital bill — without any additional expenses.

For an ordinary family like ours, this is an enormous amount. We have already sold our family car to put everything we possibly can toward Natali’s treatment. But money is not our only problem. We have very little time. We need to raise the necessary amount and travel to Barcelona as soon as possible. Our family simply cannot raise almost €94,000 on our own in such a short period of time.

That is why I am asking for your help today.

As a mother, my greatest fear is that while we are trying to raise the money, my daughter’s condition will continue to worsen. Please, help us. Help me get Natali to her surgery as soon as possible and give my daughter the chance to receive the treatment she needs.

«Мама, почему мне стало так тяжело дышать?» Эти слова ни одна мама не хочет услышать от своего 11-летнего ребёнка.

Меня зовут Анаит, я мама троих детей. Мы обычная семья из Армении, и сегодня я оказалась в ситуации, когда вынуждена просить помощи у совершенно незнакомых людей ради своей 11-летней дочери Натали.

У Натали тяжёлое прогрессирующее искривление позвоночника. В последнее время я стала замечать то, что пугает меня ещё больше — ей становится тяжелее дышать, особенно при физической нагрузке.

В Армении нам не предложили конкретного лечения или операции. Нам сказали, что в октябре должен приехать специалист из-за границы, который, возможно, сможет осмотреть Натали и высказать своё мнение.

Но я мама. Я не могла просто ждать несколько месяцев и смотреть, как меняется состояние моего ребёнка, не зная, смогут ли нам тогда помочь.

Поэтому я начала искать сама. Я изучала детские больницы и специалистов за границей, писала им, отправляла снимки, обследования и все медицинские документы Натали. Так я нашла детскую больницу Sant Joan de Déu в Барселоне.

Специалисты изучили случай моей дочери и предложили ей сложную операцию на позвоночнике. Стоимость лечения составляет 93 899,34 евро. И это только счёт за лечение в больнице — без дополнительных расходов.

Для обычной семьи, такой как наша, это огромная сумма. Мы уже продали семейную машину, чтобы вложить в лечение Натали всё, что можем. Но проблема не только в деньгах. У нас очень мало времени. Нам нужно как можно скорее собрать необходимую сумму и уехать в Барселону. Самостоятельно собрать почти 94 000 евро за такой короткий срок наша семья просто не сможет.

Именно поэтому сегодня я прошу вашей помощи.
