Today, the cancer has spread to her brain and spine, and Chesty is currently undergoing exhausting radiation therapy and brain radiotherapy.
A routine check-up in February of this year turned our lives into a nightmare - my daughter was diagnosed with blood cancer. Just one month after starting chemotherapy, Chesty suffered a severe seizure right before our eyes. We later learned that she had experienced a stroke caused by a blood clot in her brain. We went through a horrific ordeal, standing on the thin line between life and death.
It all began so innocently last August when Chesty came down with what seemed to be an ordinary case of chickenpox. A month later, however, the rashes not only failed to disappear, but new, unusual spots began spreading across her body, quickly growing larger and turning dark. On February 16, we were admitted to the hospital as an emergency case, and on February 24, after the painful procedure of a bone marrow aspiration, we heard the most terrifying diagnosis: Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL).
Within a matter of hours, her carefree childhood disappeared, replaced by the sterile walls of a hospital in Cebu, Philippines, where my little girl is currently undergoing aggressive and exhausting chemotherapy.
I am the only one working in our family, while my husband remains constantly by our daughter's bedside, caring for her day and night. Unfortunately, my modest salary is completely powerless against the overwhelming financial burden of cancer.
Despite everything, the doctors are giving us hope that, with the right treatment, Chesty can overcome this disease and return to a normal life. Chemotherapy is her only real chance of survival and the only path toward a future where she can run, play, and laugh again.
But this hope comes with enormous medical expenses that are far beyond what our family can afford. That is why I am reaching out to you with all my mother's desperation and faith in human kindness - please help me save my only daughter.
