We are a family with two children - a big, sunny boy of 4, and our little girl, Danaya, born November 13, 2023. After a long struggle with IVF, our dreams became reality - twice.

The first few months everything seemed normal. It wasn't until around the 8th month that we started to notice developmental delays. At 1 year we were diagnosed with microcephaly and at 1 year and 6 months with CASK genetic syndrome, which is so rare that we don't even know how it will develop because there is not enough research and different cases have different symptoms.

These diagnoses sound scary, but Danaya knows no fear.

She is stubbornly and courageously moving forward, she has started to sit

crawling fast as lightning

stands up and walks on furniture

feeds herself with her hands

drinks from a straw

plays, communicates with gestures, makes many new sounds

She showed us that there is no "impossible".

Every small achievement for her is a big win for all of us.

For her to continue to develop - to begin to walk independently, to communicate with words, to be strong and independent - requires ongoing and specialized therapies, devices, testing and counseling that are not covered.
