1,752 Donors Helped Little Maria – Her Follow-Up MRI Brings Good News

1,752 donors supported little Maria and raised €56,002.93 for her treatment. More than a year after her surgery, her family has shared encouraging news from her latest medical examinations.

A follow-up MRI in September showed that the opening created during surgery remains open, and according to the medical team, Maria is in good overall health.

The Diagnosis Came During Her First Year of Life

Maria was born on November 20, 2023.

At just 40 days old, she was diagnosed with severe generalized hypotonia and began rehabilitation therapy.

When she was seven months old, an MRI revealed hydrocephalus. Over time, her condition required surgical treatment.

The amount needed was €50,000.

1,752 People Stood Behind Maria

The little girl's story reached thousands of people.

A total of 1,752 donors raised €56,002.93 – 112% of the original fundraising goal.

This support made it possible for Maria to receive the treatment she needed.

In April 2025, she underwent endoscopic surgery, during which an opening was created to allow excess fluid in the brain to drain naturally.

After the operation, one important question remained – how would her condition develop, and what would the next examinations show?

More Than a Year Later, the Good News Arrived

On September 24, 2026, the family received the results of Maria's latest follow-up MRI.

The opening created during surgery remains open, and according to the multidisciplinary medical team, Maria is in good overall health.

“Thank God, and thank all of you for helping my child have a chance at a better life!”

And the good news does not end there – Maria has now started to speak.

Maria Will Continue to Be Monitored

Maria's condition will continue to be monitored annually. She will also receive speech therapy to support and follow her development.

Today, however, her family has a reason to look ahead with greater peace of mind.
