2,180 donors supported 22-year-old Georgi and raised €98,365. The campaign reached 104% of its fundraising goal.
The funds raised will allow Georgi to continue his treatment following the major surgery he underwent in August.
Until the summer, Georgi's everyday life revolved around work, friends, and plans for the future.
It all began with chest pain. Medical examinations revealed mediastinal synovial sarcoma - a rare tumor located in the mediastinum, the area between the organs in the chest.
On August 19, Georgi underwent major surgery. His family reported that the tumor had been completely removed and that his lymph nodes were clear.
Due to the risk of the disease returning, doctors recommended postoperative chemotherapy and radiotherapy. Georgi's treatment plan includes three cycles of chemotherapy and a full course of radiotherapy.
The cost of treatment, together with the necessary hospital stay, was beyond what his family could afford.
Thanks to the support of 2,180 donors, one of the biggest obstacles to the next stage of Georgi's treatment has now been overcome.
Georgi's surgery is behind him. The fundraising goal has also been reached. What matters most now is that his treatment continues according to the planned medical course.
We thank everyone who donated, shared his story, and helped secure the necessary funds.
