1,342 donors supported Riste and raised €32,076.75. The campaign reached 102% of its €31,500 fundraising goal, and the funds needed for the next stage of treatment have already been transferred to the hospital.
Riste himself shared the good news, thanking everyone who donated, shared his story, and supported his family through one of the most difficult periods of their lives.
After being diagnosed with cancer in his right lung, Riste began treatment.
Initially, the therapies reduced the size of the tumor, and doctors determined that surgery could be performed.
However, during the procedure, it became clear that the tumor could not be removed because part of it was attached to a major blood vessel near the heart.
The operation was stopped, leaving Riste in urgent need of further treatment.
Riste is the father of two sons and has spent more than 20 years teaching guitar and training young musicians.
Because of his illness, he had to cancel a concert with his students. In his campaign, he shared a simple dream - to stand before them again with a guitar in his hands.
To continue his treatment, his family turned to the community for help.
1,342 donors raised €32,076.75, exceeding the original fundraising goal.
After the necessary funds were secured, Riste addressed everyone who had stood by him.
He thanked them for every donation, every share, and every kind word, explaining that their support had given his family strength, hope, and faith.
The fundraising goal has been exceeded, and one of the biggest obstacles Riste faced has been overcome.
However, his treatment and ongoing medical monitoring still lie ahead.
Riste has promised to continue sharing updates with the people who have supported him throughout this journey.
We thank all 1,342 donors, as well as everyone who shared his story and helped secure the necessary funds.
Just days ago, Riste was asking for help so that his treatment could continue. Today, he can say to the people behind his campaign: thank you.
