HELP! To all good people willing and able to help.

Todor Radev Ganchev, 57, the man next to me, urgently needs your help. It all started a few months ago with complaints that in no way suggested anything serious. After repeated visits to a gastroenterologist and treatment with medicines that were changed periodically there was no big change in the condition.

On our initiative we tested for the presence of the bacterium Helicobacter pylori, which is one of the main causes of stomach cancer. The result was positive. A course of antibiotics was carried out which gave results and the bacteria was cleared. Then we had the faith that everything was fine. But it wasn't. There were still some symptoms and the weight he had lost - almost 20kg made us go for another check-up with a professor in Varna. After a fibrogastroscopy, his conclusion was - malignant tumour in the stomach. A biopsy was taken, the result of which we are still waiting for. But the professor was adamant that we should act quickly.

So after a few days of shock and not wanting to believe what was happening, we decided to seek help at a clinic in Turkey. In a few days we are due to travel to Istanbul where the necessary tests will be done and a quote for treatment will be made.

We strongly believe and hope that there they will help him to continue his vocation - his work as a folk dance choreographer. He has devoted his whole life to his profession, leading more than 10 ensembles that have won many awards and recognition not only in Bulgaria but also abroad. He is a man with a big heart, loving to help anyone in need, with two wonderful grown up children and one granddaughter.

He is facing a battle with illness that will require resources beyond his means and those of his family. I believe that together with all of you, Toshko will be able to fight this insidious disease.
