We are Magdalena and Julian and we are Stanimir's parents. He is a wonderful 3 year old boy, much wanted and raised with great love. He was a smiley, sunny child who gave kisses, waved goodbye, tried to imitate us, enjoyed other children, but at some point he started to regress. Stanny stopped noticing us, the children and the animals, stopped waving, stopped giving kisses, stopped turning around when called by name, and the eye contact disappeared. Then began our walk of torment. Many relatives and friends, even specialists reassured us that he was still small, that he would grow up and everything would be fine, that it was something temporary and boys develop slower, but alas none of this proved true.

We started with a hearing test first - the problem was not there. Then we saw a child psychiatrist, a clinical psychologist and a child neurologist. They all confirmed the diagnosis of autism and developmental disorder. Our world literally came crashing down in a matter of seconds, but we will turn the world around if we have to, if only to help Stanley improve. Currently the child is receiving several types of therapy, separately we are doing chelation because the levels of some heavy metals (lead, aluminum, nickel, uranium) in his system are extremely high. We finance all this ourselves. Despite numerous therapies, progress is still very little.

Our best hope at the moment lies in the application of stem cell therapy. We know children with autism where the infusion of stem cells has given a significant boost to their development and improved their condition. It is this hope that gives us strength in this uphill struggle and makes us believe that Stanley will one day be able to make it on his own in life and not be rejected by society. Considering the fact that he is still 3 years old, his chances for serious progress are extremely high.

After doing some research, talking to other parents, including outside Bulgaria, we decided on the Emcel clinic in Kiev. We sent all the child's tests, filled in a questionnaire and received their offer for one infusion, which is worth 15 000 USD, and Stanny will need about three infusions.

The amount is completely unaffordable for our family considering all the other treatments we are self-funding, so we are reaching out to all the big-hearted people who are willing and able to support us in our fight.
