Six myths about crowdfunding you need to know!

Crowdfunding, or fundraising for charity, has been around for a long time in different cultures and often goes by different names. In African and Caribbean societies, for example, there are special donation circles called "sous-sous" that may raise funds for food or to help victims of accidents. These days, the Internet is able to help many people because it gives us the opportunity to benefit from the goodwill of hundreds of donors from countries near and far. Through the World Wide Web, funds can be raised for a variety of charitable causes - medical care, anti-addiction, anti-cancer, food and other basic human needs, training and education, animal rescue, and much more. Despite its growing popularity, myths about crowdfunding cause many to give up because they think the process is expensive, dangerous and would take a long time. But let's learn the truth.

Six common myths about crowdfunding that need to be busted.

Myth #1: Online fundraising takes a long time to get started

Actually setting up a crowdfunding campaign is a piece of cake. You pick a funding goal, come up with the right title, and choose the category that best fits your fundraising. There are places to add videos and photos in addition to text messages to share your story and need with many people around the world. Once you've gathered the materials, it would hardly take more than a few minutes to get the actual fundraising process underway.

Sharing information can be done through Facebook, Twitter, WhatsApp or other channels.

Myth #2: I can't raise money for myself

Asking for help is not always an easy thing to do. You may have been brought up to believe that such a thing is shameful, a sign of failure or a sign of weakness. But in fact, anyone can find themselves in a situation where they need help at some point. If you're having trouble paying your bills, know that you're not alone. It's been found that three out of 10 Americans don't have enough savings to cover their expenses for even three months in the event of an emergency. That means millions of people are one step away from losing their jobs or having their health deteriorate due to an inability to get treatment because of financial hardship.

Myth #3: No one will want to donate money

On the contrary! Your friends, family and social circle will certainly want to help - all you have to do is spread the word about your cause. The US small business consulting firm Fundera has done the statistics and it shows that each such project is supported by an average of 47 people. It has also found that if people share the fundraising campaign through their personal email, over half of the recipients agree to donate to the cause.

There are times when you may need help, and the data shows that the right actions can lead you right to your goal. There are plenty of fundraising tips to help you make the most of the platform's capabilities.

Myth #4: Crowdfunding is only for serious emergencies

People tend to donate to all kinds of needs. Funds are raised for funerals and memorials, education bills, medical bills, even for businesses and entrepreneurs. There are no restrictions.

Many states provide money and emergency services to their residents in need. Compared to countries in Europe, for example, the U.S. has a weaker social safety net. The COVID-19 pandemic clearly showed the gaps in the social safety net. A website for personal donations can offset the day-to-day costs when the government or nonprofits cannot adequately support them.

Myth #5: Crowdfunding is not safe

So-called "phishing" schemes and comments in the news about hackers getting illegal access to our data make people worried about the safety of their online donations. PavelAndreev.ORG shares these concerns. That's why it's easier and most of all safe to use my platform specifically. My team works hard to ensure maximum security.
