Help Isaiah Have a Future Beyond Hospital Walls

When my son was just six months old, the doctors gave us the most terrifying prognosis a parent could ever hear - that he might have only a few months left to live. I remember looking at my tiny baby, unable to accept that I might lose him before I even had the chance to watch him grow up.

Today, my Isaiah is 12 years old. He is a kind, cheerful, and loving boy who enjoys playing games, spending time with his friends, and dreams of becoming a lawyer one day. But behind his smile are more than ten years of hospital visits, blood transfusions, painful procedures, and fear.

I am Isaiah's father, and I am asking you to help my child.

When he was still a baby, Isaiah was diagnosed with Coombs-positive hemolytic anemia - a serious condition in which red blood cells are destroyed, causing hemoglobin levels to drop dangerously low. There have been times when my son needed blood transfusions as often as three times a week.

I watched him grow up, but instead of being able to enjoy his childhood without worry, I was constantly afraid of the next blood test, the next procedure, the next time his condition might worsen. In 2017, Isaiah fractured his femur, and in 2019, he suffered another fracture. His illness has also often prevented him from attending school and spending time with his friends.

In April of this year, doctors removed his spleen. We hoped the surgery would improve his condition, but his treatment is far from over. Isaiah still needs blood transfusions, medication, and constant medical monitoring.

Every time I notice that his face looks unusually pale, my heart sinks. I am terrified that I will have to take him back to the hospital again.

I am the sole income earner in our family, as my wife is currently not working. My income is not enough. We have already taken out loans and sold our belongings just to keep his treatment going.

Now, we urgently need 304,652.80 Philippine pesos to cover approximately the next three months of medical care.

Isaiah dreams of becoming a lawyer one day, going to school, and having a future. My dream is simply to be there beside him when all of that finally comes true.
