Александър се роди здраво бебе, всичко беше нормално, докато не проходи. Честичко падаше, изправяше се по странен начин, неговата педиатърка каза, че до 3 годишна възраст децата не ходят правилно и , че той е добре. Каза ни да отидем на ортопед, за да съм сигурна, че всичко е наред.
След прегледа, доктора каза да отидем на невролог спешно. Така и направихме, направиха му изследвания и днк тест, оказа се Мускулна дистрофия Дюшен, една от най страшните диагнози. Беше абсолютен шок. Оказа се, че няма лечение, до 13та си година момчетата сядат в инвалидна количка и не доживяват до 30 години, като всичко това е съпътствано от дихателни и сърдечни проблеми.
За мен като майка, едва ли има по-голямо нещастие от това. Болката е неописуема.Всеки един ден последните 16 години е борба, ходене по болници, изследвания, физиотерапия, каквото е необходимо, за да остане той на крака, макар и ходещ много бавно.
Преди няколко години излезе терапия, която забавя прогресията на болестта, имахме късмета да я получим, но с днешна дата нещата не са добри. Спират лекарствата до 2 месеца, и Алекс ще спре да ходи.
Как да се примири една майка с такова нещо? Как едно 16 годишно момче да приеме, че става затворник на тялото си?
Трудно е. Много трудно. Винаги е искал само да излезе с приятели, сам без майка му да го държи за ръка, а не може, защото често пада и му е трудно да стане от земята. Как да отговоря на въпроса му, защо точно на мен се случи?....
Научихме, че във Турция правят вливания на стволови клетки. Изпратихме медицински документи и професора изказа становище, че може да се забрави прогресията на болестта и да му осигури по комфортен живот , ако се направят вливания . За съжаление сумата от 30 000 евро не е по силите на семейството ни, и няма как да я съберем в толкова кратък срок.
За това молим за помощ всеки , който би могъл да помогне на едно момче, да продължи да ходи на училище и да бъде сред приятелите си.

Alexander was born a healthy baby, everything was normal until he walked. He was falling down a lot, standing up in a weird way, his pediatrician said that by age 3 kids don't walk properly and , that he was fine. She told us to go to an orthopedist to make sure everything was ok.
After the exam, the doc said to see a neurologist urgently. So we did, they did some tests and a dna test, it turned out to be Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, one of the scariest diagnoses. It was an absolute shock. It turned out there was no cure, by his 13th year the boys was in a wheelchair and didn't live to be 30, all of which was accompanied by respiratory and heart problems.
For me as a mother, there is hardly a greater misfortune than that. The pain is indescribable.Every single day for the last 16 years has been a struggle, going to hospitals, tests, physiotherapy, whatever it takes to keep him on his feet, albeit walking very slowly.
A few years ago a therapy came out that slows the progression of the disease, we were lucky enough to get it but to date things are not good. Stop the meds in 2 months, and Alex will stop walking.
How does a mother put up with such a thing? How does a 16 year old boy accept becoming a prisoner of his body?
It's hard. Very hard. He's always wanted to just go out with friends, by himself without his mother holding his hand, and he can't because he often falls and has a hard time getting up off the ground. How do I answer his question, why exactly did it happen to me?....
We learned that they do stem cell infusions in Turkey. We sent medical documents and the professor opined that it could forget the progression of the disease and give him a more comfortable life , if infusions were done. Unfortunately, the amount of 30,000 euros is not within our family's means, and there is no way we can raise it in such a short time.
