Let’s Grow With Goats.">The filming gave an important opportunity to capture the people, families, children and rural communities at the heart of our work. Through this video, Buyesi Youth Initiative hope to show supporters not only the challenges facing families in Puti-Puti, but also the potential of sustainable goat farming to create income, strengthen food security, support children’s education and build more resilient livelihoods. The completed promotional video will help us introduce the Goat Guardian Programme to a wider audience and demonstrate how every contribution can become part of a practical, community-led solution to challenges in rural communities. What is the Goat Guardian Programme? The Goat Guardian Programme connects individuals, families, organisations and businesses with children and rural households in Uganda. A Goat Guardian does more than make a donation. They help provide a child with a goat, educational essentials and ongoing mentorship while supporting the family’s journey towards greater economic independence. A goat can become a productive household asset. With appropriate care, training and breeding support, the herd can grow over time, helping families improve their income, meet essential needs and invest in their children’s education and future. Our approach is designed to create lasting impact rather than short-term relief. As the goat and its offspring become part of the wider Goat Economy, participating children and families gain opportunities to develop practical livestock-rearing, responsibility and entrepreneurship skills. Goat Guardian Support Tiers There are several ways to participate, allowing supporters to contribute at a level that is right for them: -Goat Friend — £10 suggested contribution This contribution helps feed and care for one goat for a month. Goat Friends receive: * Quarterly email updates * Recognition on the Buyesi supporter wall -Pack Partner — £20 suggested contribution This tier supports a child’s schooling alongside the development of the family’s herd. -Pack Partners receive: * Quarterly email updates * A named thank-you on Buyesi’s social media channels * A digital impact report -Herd Champion — £30 suggested contribution This contribution directly supports access to improved breeding stock, helping strengthen the quality and future productivity of community herds. Herd Champions receive: * Monthly email updates * A named thank-you on Buyesi’s social media channels * A digital impact report * An annual video update from the field -Flagship Goat Guardian — £140 one-off contribution The flagship tier provides a more comprehensive package for a child and their household. The £140 contribution supports: * The purchase of a local goat for a child * Scholastic materials, uniforms, shoes and other essentials * Ongoing mentorship and progress monitoring * A Buyesi shirt sent to the Guardian * A personalised Goat Guardian identification number, such as GG/01 * Regular updates on the child’s progress and the growth of the herd * Invitations to Buyesi events, campaigns and community initiatives * Subsidised access to high-quality goats and commercial farming guidance for Guardians who are interested in farming. Every contribution received through the smaller support tiers also helps Buyesi fund the next complete Goat Guardianship. More Than a Donation Guardianship is intended to be a continuing relationship between the supporter and the community, not simply a one-time transaction. We are committed to keeping supporters informed about important developments, including the child’s educational progress, goat care, herd growth and significant family or community milestones. This accountability allows every Guardian to understand how their contribution is being used and the difference it is helping to create. The campaign video filmed this week will bring this relationship to life by sharing authentic images and stories directly from Puti-Puti.
