Plamena, a young woman preparing for kidney transplant surgery after a successful global fundraising campaign on PavelAndreev.ORG

Today Plamena is Getting Admitted in Hospital Thanks to Donations from PavelAndreev.ORG

Sometimes a community can change someone’s life in just a few days.

Thanks to 218 donors on the PavelAndreev.ORG fundraising platform, the funds needed for the surgery of 26-year-old Plamena have already been raised. The campaign reached 101% of its goal, collecting a total of €20,293.54.

Today, March 9, 2026, Plamena is being admitted to the hospital where the pre-operative tests will begin. These examinations will prepare both her and her brother for the upcoming transplant surgery.

A Disease That Changes Everything

Plamena has been living for years with systemic lupus, a serious autoimmune disease that gradually damages the body’s organs. In her case, the illness has led to kidney failure.

Today her life depends on hemodialysis three times a week — a treatment that keeps her alive but makes a normal life extremely difficult.

Everyday activities such as traveling, working, or planning for the future become complicated when life revolves around dialysis sessions and medical treatments.

A Chance for a New Life

For more than a year and a half, Plamena has been on the kidney transplant waiting list in Bulgaria, but a suitable donor has not yet been found.

Hope comes from within her own family.

Her brother made a life-changing decision: he is willing to donate a kidney to save her life.

This gives Plamena a real chance for a transplant and a new beginning. Unfortunately, the costs of the surgery and the medical procedures are beyond what the family can afford.

That is how the fundraising campaign on PavelAndreev.ORG began.

Thanks to the generosity of people from different places, the necessary funds for the surgery have now been collected and Plamena can take the next step.

Plamena: “I Have a Chance Thanks to You”

Shortly before entering the hospital, Plamena shared a message with the donors:

“Hello, dear people. We have been given an admission date — March 9, 2026. Part of the funds will be used for medical tests (€6,000), and the rest will cover the surgery itself. Pre-operative examinations and three hemodialysis procedures will be performed before the transplant.”

The Power of Community

Plamena’s story is another reminder that when people come together around a cause, hope becomes real.

Behind every successful fundraising campaign are dozens or hundreds of people who decide to help — sometimes with a small donation, sometimes by simply sharing the story.

On behalf of Plamena and the PavelAndreev.ORG team, we thank everyone who supported this campaign.

Join us today, March 9, as Plamena is getting admitted into the hospital, to wish her a successful surgery and a brave new beginning!
