In order to feel good and comfortable where we live, we must contribute to the yard, the street, the park, the garden. Just like our ancestors did!

St. Mina Church in the village of Slatnina (today - Slatina district in the city of Sofia) was built back in 1872 with donated with love and faith labor and funds of all the people then living in the village. Even today, on the icons in the temple and on the frescoes already revealed under the plaster, you can see the names of the donors - clans, families, individual names... These are our parents and ancestors, they speak to us! The building of the church is a monument of culture and its preservation is a manifestation of affection, respect and reverence for the ancestors, for our past.

As of March 2024, construction work is underway to restore the church and improve the property - according to an approved design and with a Building Permit. This was achieved thanks to an initiative launched in 2017 by the priests and parishioners of Holy Trinity Church in the Slatina district, with the unpaid work of planners, lawyers and many other people with various professions. In the fundraising concerts were held, small and large donors took part, funds were also granted by the Bulgarian Orthodox Church.

This campaign is to raise funds to build a platform for the disabled in the churchyard.

This facility is needed to reach the church after entering the courtyard because the terrain is very steep. This is not a problem for any able-bodied person - just use stairs - now new and comfortable. But the elderly and those for whom every step and small hill is an insurmountable Himalayan peak need to be helped. In the churches these people are not few - they come here more often to get spiritual support, but also to use the well-kept gardens for recreation. These gardens are public - everyone can enjoy their comfort and beauty. Our parents, our children, ourselves. This is ours! Let's make sure that those who want to, but find it difficult, are with us in the joy.
