Danail was almost 17 years old when one day he noticed a swelling in the area of one testicle. What followed was a year of examinations and consultations with urologists and specialists, multiple tests, surgery and histology, and the results, after almost a year from the start, led to the diagnosis - rhabdomyosarcoma - embryonal type. He is now 18 years old and is neither a child nor an adult.

The children's clinic cannot treat him because he is not a child, and the adult oncology clinic says that the type of tumor is not typical at his age, and that there is no treatment for him at their clinic.

Our family found hope in a clinic in Turkey.

With the help of friends, classmates from the school where Danail was studying at the time, and of course the unexpected support from friends he didn't know until then, Danail received the financial support he needed to begin treatment. Tough months of chemotherapy followed, with several life-threatening moments. Danail believes strongly in life and the hope of recovery and grasps at them. The clinic in Istanbul - "Anadolu" succeeds.

Danail breathed a sigh of relief and started building his life with even more motivation. He applied dentistry, got accepted and eagerly started studying. His dream since 1st grade!!!

After a short time in remission, at a follow-up scan the doctors found a swollen lymph node - a dissection of the tumor that Daniel had defeated. Our spirits were briefly broken, but after the big shock we are all reassembling our faith and mentally preparing for the next fight.

The clinic in Turkey strongly believes that we will make it through this time too and has set us a date for another course of chemotherapy followed by radiotherapy, funds for which we really no longer have.

Today Danny is a first year dental student and between lectures he managed to have surgery which was on 14.11.2023.

There is no appropriate age for a person to go through a serious illness. We live in a time where children and adults hear the diagnosis "cancer", none of them are prepared to face such a severe diagnosis.
