Преди да започне основното лечение, Никол трябваше да премине през редица трудни и болезнени процедури. В началото се проведе операция за поставяне на порт, чрез който да се вливат медикаментите. След това дойде ред на отливката (термопластична маска), която представлява гореща смес (пластмаса с топла вода), която се поставя върху детето, докато се втвърди върху него.
Следващата стъпка беше скенерът с контраст. Усещането при вливането на контраста е горещо и болезнено, а Никол трябваше да лежи напълно неподвижна, за да се получат точни изображения.
Първият ден от химиотерапията започна с неочаквана алергична реакция към медикаментите. Никол изпита силни болки и неразположение, което изискваше бърза намеса с противоалергични средства.
След като алергичната реакция беше овладяна, Никол започна химиотерапията. Болките по цялото тяло - кожата, мишниците, гърба - бяха неописуеми. Най-тежките кризи настъпиха при поставяне на Месна – химиотерапевтичен адювант, използван за предпазване на вътрешните органи от увреждане. Никол започна да кашля безспирно и да повръща.
За една седмица Никол отслабна с три килограма. Тя яде много малко, само сутрин, и до вечерта не може да се храни заради гаденето и общото неразположение.
Днес (08.06) Никол е изписана и ще ходи само на лъчетерапии в следващите 23 дни. След което ще започне подготовка за операцията.
🙏Before starting the main treatment, Nicole had to go through a number of difficult and painful procedures. In the beginning, surgery was performed to insert a port through which the medication could be infused. Then it was the turn of the cast (thermoplastic mask), which is a hot mixture (plastic with warm water) that is placed on the child until it hardens on him. The next step was the contrast scan. The sensation when the contrast is infused is hot and painful, and Nicole had to lie completely still to get accurate images. The first day of chemotherapy started with an unexpected allergic reaction to the medication. Nicole experienced severe pain and discomfort that required rapid intervention with anti-allergy medication. Once the allergic reaction was controlled, Nicole began chemotherapy. The pain all over her body - skin, armpits, back - was indescribable. The worst crises occurred when she was put on Mesna, a chemotherapy adjuvant used to protect internal organs from damage. Nicole began coughing incessantly and vomiting. In one week, Nicole lost three pounds. She ate very little, only in the mornings, and could not eat until the evening because of the nausea and general malaise. Today (08.06) Nicole was discharged and will only have radiotherapy for the next 23 days. After which she will start preparing for the surgery. 🙏
