Всяка година в България се регистрират 50 000 нови случаи на инсулт. Това превръща инсулта в особено значим социален проблем. Липсата на достатъчно подготвени и достатъчен брой болногледачи, рехабилитатори, терапевти, психолози и др., които да са достъпни за семействата на пострадалите от инсулт, извежда от икономиката ни средно по двама активно работещи за всеки случай на инсулт.
След болничния престой никой не знае в какво състояние ще бъде изписан пациента след инсулт. Много често той е сериозно инвалидизиран и зависи изцяло от своите близки.
Най-страшни са именно онези дълги часове, в които седите на пейката пред отделението и няма кой да ви обясни какво е състоянието на Вашия близък и какво следва. Обзема ви страх, неяснота, безпомощност, тревога от това, че не знаете какво ви чака...
Никой в болничното отделение не е подготвен, няма нагласа, време и емпатия да обясни на пациента с инсулт и на неговите близки какво се е случило и какво предстои след изписването. В общия случай, пациента е „връчен“ на неговите близки с една епикириза и отттам започват тревогите и изпитанието за цялото семейство.
Ето защо в Асоциацията за инсулт и афазия създадохме първия „НАРЪЧНИК на ПАЦИЕНТА СЛЕД ИНСУЛТ“. Там са отговорите на въпроси като: какви помощни средства ще са нужни, как да се преустрои дома за посрещане на болния, какви права има пострадалия от инсулт, какви видове терапия са задължителни и препоръчителни и до кои от тях пациента има достъп, какво е това афазия/нарушение на говора след инсулт/ и как да се общува с такъв болен...
С този „НАРЪЧНИК на ПАЦИЕНТА СЛЕД ИНСУЛТ“ самият потърпевш, както и неговите близки могат да се ориентират правилно, да се организират и да преодолеят първоначалния шок след инцидента.
Необходими са 15 000 лева за отпечатването на 50 000 броя наръчници за текущата 2025 година, които Асоциацията за инсулт и афазия ще предостави до 135 неврологични клиники в цялата страна.

Every year 50 000 new cases of stroke are registered in Bulgaria. This makes stroke a particularly significant social problem. The lack of sufficiently trained and sufficient numbers of carers, rehabilitators, therapists, psychologists, etc., who are available to the families of stroke victims, takes an average of two active workers out of our economy for every stroke case.
After a hospital stay, no one knows what condition the patient will be discharged in after a stroke. Very often he is seriously disabled and depends entirely on his relatives.
The most frightening are those long hours when you are sitting on the bench outside the ward and there is no one to explain to you what your relative's condition is and what comes next. You are overwhelmed with fear, uncertainty, helplessness, anxiety of not knowing what is waiting for you...
No one in the hospital ward has the preparation, attitude, time or empathy to explain to the stroke patient and their loved ones what has happened and what is coming after discharge. Generally, the patient is "handed" to his or her loved ones with an epi-pen and from there the worries and ordeal for the whole family begin.
This is why we at the Stroke and Aphasia Association have created the first "PATIENT'S GUIDE AFTER A STROKE". There are the answers to questions such as: what aids will be needed, how to remodel the home to accommodate the patient, what rights the stroke victim has, what types of therapy are mandatory and recommended and which ones the patient has access to, what is aphasia/speech impairment after stroke/ and how to communicate with such a patient...
With this "PATIENT'S HANDBOOK AFTER A STROKE", the sufferer himself as well as his relatives can orient themselves correctly, organize themselves and overcome the initial shock after the accident.
15,000 is needed to print 50,000 copies of the handbooks for the current year 2025, which the Stroke and Aphasia Association will provide to 135 neurology clinics across the country.
