Today we open this campaign with the great hope that together we will be able to create a Christmas miracle for a man who, in his prime, has been diagnosed with a serious cancer.

Mitko is 49 years old and lives in a village near Ruse. He has three sons, works for a chain of shops in the town and is an ordinary, hard-working man like all of us. Some time ago, however, due to symptoms, he went for a check-up and unexpectedly got the serious diagnosis - colon cancer. Radiotherapy was immediately prescribed, which was carried out at the Oncology Centre in Ruse. But it is only a small step in Mitko's overall treatment, which is yet to come. After consultations and examinations in several hospitals in the country, Mitko received the same answer - an operation to remove the tumour should be performed, but the stoma, or as people colloquially call it - a bowel in a pouch, will be removed. This makes Mitko start looking for other opinions and treatment options, because the thought of this "pouch" against the background of the severe diagnosis makes him desperate and mentally overwhelmed.

In the course of his search for information about the disease, Mitko shared with a friend who gave him the idea to seek opinions from foreign hospitals and so, at the end of last month, he went for a consultation and examinations to a Turkish hospital where, after an MRI and PET scan, the diagnosis was confirmed, but the doctors there thought it was possible to perform surgery to remove the tumour without removing the stoma and preserve the normal functions of the intestine.The chances of Mitko's recovery are very high, because the disease is at an early stage, the tumour is firmly encapsulated and there are no metastases.

Unfortunately, however, the amount that has been announced for the treatment is unaffordable for Mitko and his family. The treatment offer he received from Agyabadem Hospital in Turkey is worth just over 46,000€, which is why his family and friends decided to start a campaign to help Mitko so that he can be cured and remain a complete person.

Enquiries have been made to other hospitals in Turkey, from which a response is still awaited, with a proposed treatment plan and price offer, but in order not to waste time, we are launching the campaign, and will notify you immediately if there are any changes in the choice of hospital and price offer.
